I'm Supun Sriyananda, an R&D embedded engineer. I build safety critical systems, the kind that have to keep working in places nobody can easily get to.
Most of what I do sits somewhere across embedded Linux, edge AI integration, IoT data analysis, predictive maintenance and hardware design. I teach as well, and I contribute to open source when I can.
Why this site exists
I kept hitting walls. Not the kind you solve with a search, but the kind where you have gone somewhere nobody has been yet and there is no forum thread, no documentation, no answer sitting there waiting. So I worked them out myself, one wall at a time.
This is where I write them down. If you end up in the same place I did, you will find something here instead of silence. That is the whole idea. Somewhere out there is another lonely traveler on the same road, and this is where we meet.
What's here
Tutorials are step by step. Follow one from top to bottom and you end up with the thing working. Each one states the exact board, OS and versions it was tested on, because a guide that leaves that out is how you lose an afternoon.
The blog is everything else. Standalone posts are field notes, opinions and deep dives into how something actually works. Series are longer, ordered, and meant to be read in sequence.
Working together
I'm open to consulting. If you have something stuck, a system that fails in ways nobody can explain, or a board that needs Linux doing something it does not want to do, get in touch.
